First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at General Atlantic.
Vice President
The first round involved two 30-minute sessions with VPs from the credit team. We discussed my resume and past deals. Unfortunately, I was rejected after this first round. I heard there's supposed to be another round with a case study and then a final interview with team MDs. I didn't really click with the interviewer, which might be why it didn't work out.
- Can you give me an overview of your resume?
- What led to your transition from company A to company B?
- What is your interest in GA?
Investment Intern
Started with an HR screening, then a first round with an analyst. After that, there were three more interviews scheduled with different associates from various coverage groups. It wasn't overly intense, but make sure to bring a stock pitch and have a solid grasp of market trends.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What's your motivation for applying to GA?
- Prepare a stock pitch.
Product Manager
I had a good first chat with a recruiter at General Atlantic about the Product Manager job. We talked about the role, the team, and my experience. They said there would be more steps and I gave them my availability. Sadly, I never heard back even after following up. I know things can change, but it was a bummer not to get any closure. Just wanted to share so others know what to expect - good communication, even if plans change, really matters.
- Can you walk me through your background?
- What makes you want to work here for this role?
- Can you share your perspective on the company, the team, and the ideal candidate profile?
Associate
I applied on GA's website for a role in Mexico. I had an interview with an RH employee from the NY office who asked general questions about my past experiences and why I applied to GA. The next interview was with a member of the Mexico team who asked more technical questions and a lot about the deals GA had made in the country.
- Which GA investments in the country did you find appealing, and what's your reasoning?
- What is your perspective on why we chose to invest in that particular business plan?
- Can you walk me through your previous experiences?
