I applied using a paper application and was then quickly invited for an interview. The interview was a single, in-person meeting with the store manager. It felt like a casual chat and was pretty straightforward and brief.

The interview process was straightforward. Upon arrival, the manager interviews you fairly quickly to go over expectations and discuss when you might hear back. You can apply online or in person, but applying in person is recommended for faster results. While turnover is high, it's for valid reasons; this serving job requires a lot of effort, with servers interacting with each table 10-15 times due to things like grill changes and refilling sides. Keep this demanding aspect in mind.

I had an interview scheduled for 11 am. I got there at 10:55 and was told my interviewer wasn't there and to wait. I waited for 30 minutes until I had to find a server to ask what was going on. She checked and said the interviewer was busy and asked if I could come back at 1. I did. After waiting another 20 minutes, someone gave me a paper application to fill out before the interview, which took another 20 minutes. The interviewer then sat down and couldn't find my info on her computer. She then asked, "oh, have you been waiting since 11?" I know it's a restaurant and can be busy, but I've never experienced such unprofessionalism and disregard for my time.

So for a grill cook, we usually start by looking at your resume and any experience you have. Then we'll do a skills check to see how good you are at cooking. I might also ask you some questions about how you'd handle stuff, and we'll check out your communication and teamwork skills. Lastly, we'll chat about when you can work and what you're looking to get paid.
