Started with an HR call, then had two back-to-back interviews with different managers. One was very technical, and the other was more of a casual chat. They mainly wanted to see if you know your stuff and can pick things up fast.

I had one interview with three people on the call. It was a technical interview, but the team seemed professional and chill, definitely a group I’d enjoy working with.

  • There were many technical questions, all of which made sense.
  • They also asked several questions about my current team, the number of users I support, and how I handle tasks.

Behavioral

The interview process involved two rounds: first with HR, then with the management team. Everything was going well until salary negotiation came up, which I suspect led to their rejection. The management team came across as quite arrogant when discussing the role and its requirements. Questions were standard, but they also probed into employment gaps or reasons for leaving previous jobs.

I got contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn and sent my resume. A few days later, I got an email to set up a quick phone screening where they asked if I planned on getting my master's or CPA, and my salary expectations. During the call, the recruiter talked a bit about the job and the interview process, and asked for my availability for a video interview and an assessment test. When it was time for the assessment, someone called to explain it; it was a timed, easy JE (journal entry) test. Before the main interview, I had to complete and submit an application form. Two managers interviewed me, which lasted about 20-30 minutes. They asked basic interview questions and some accounting JE questions. They finished by asking if I had any questions. They were pretty neutral and not overly friendly, which is fine. I didn't hear back about an offer or rejection, and since a week passed, I'm assuming I didn't get it. Overall, it was a good experience for an entry-level candidate like me.
