I went through 4 rounds total. First was an Online Assessment with two LeetCode-style questions (Easy/Medium). Then a Phone Screen, which was a standard chat about my resume, experience, and general fit. After that, a Live Coding Technical Interview, focusing on designing small functions and checking my grasp of data structures and OOP; it was like simpler LeetCode problems plus solution design. Finally, a Behavioral Interview with typical questions on teamwork, past experiences, interests, and what motivates me.

So the interview process was HR screen, HM screen, 1 live coding, 1 systems design and 1 behavioral. If you need that many loops to decide if someone is right for you, then I don't know what to say. I never liked live coding but I politely declined after I saw live coding and systems design. To me, that is not the best way to showcase my skills. However, the interviewer, said that the HM was "very interested in me". So ... after 1 month... I finally got to talk to the HM... and was very interested in what I had to say. Then... rejection. I get it, no one is perfect. But if you have to take 1 month THEN live coding, systems design and more... your ability to make a decision on a hire is not good. I should have declined again after they asked me to reconsider. Thankfully, bullet was dodged.

Had a video call with the recruiter to talk about my background, the role, and the company. Then, I had a video call with the engineering manager, where we had some light technical chats and discussed past projects I liked. After that, I did a take-home code challenge, which was interesting but not too hard. Later, I found out they weren't moving forward with my application, which surprised me since I felt I connected well with the manager and met the challenge requirements. I asked for feedback but got nothing back, which I find a bit disrespectful of candidates' time. I hope they consider providing feedback to help everyone improve, even if it's just a simple reason. From now on, I plan to ask about feedback at the start of every interview.
