Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman.
Accountant
I connected with the partners and senior accountant managers. I discussed my accounting experience and interests, specifically tax accounting and finance. They wanted to confirm my grasp of fundamental concepts like debits and credits, the balance sheet, and bank reconciliations.
- Why did you choose to pursue accounting?
Tax Accountant
Interview process was great. Had basic interviews with HR and in-depth interviews with Tax Managers. It was more like a conversation with them and getting to know the environment of GRF.
- How do you feel you impact your team in a positive way?
Accounts Payable Specialist
The building was nice. You'll have to do a test. Make sure to study your financial accounting basics. It's not too long, but they aren't looking for Quickbooks Bookkeepers. Everyone was nice overall. They had snacks. This was a while ago, so I don't recall many specifics.
- Can you explain Debits vs Credits using a T-Chart?
- What is the difference between Assets and Liabilities?
