I applied online and then I got scheduled for a phone interview, which I then did. It was mostly behavioral, and they want to know your opinion on the markets and where they are going. The first interview was with an HR person.

I met a hiring manager at a career fair and we had a casual chat. She gave me her business card, and after I reached out, I was invited to interview at the office. Once I arrived, I got a tour before we sat down for some behavioral/fit questions. After that conversation, a trader interviewed me. He asked about my background and then had me discuss comparing different trading strategy data sets, asking which I thought was best. It felt more like a relaxed conversation than an intense interview, even though it had some technical aspects.

I sent in my resume through the school career center website and they emailed me back to set up a phone interview. I ended up having two phone interviews. The first one seemed to be with a general recruiter. The second one was with someone who I think was an algorithmic trader. Both of these interviews were pretty straightforward and didn't really ask me any technical questions. A lot of the questions were about my past experience playing online poker for a living, both before and during college.
