This is a process to see if you're a good fit for a 4-year training program to become a project manager. They'll put a lot into your training and development and don't need you to have prior experience as a tech project manager. But, they do want to see that you have work experience and can fit into their collaborative culture. Don't apply if you're just looking for a short-term gig because it's a 4-year commitment – you'll get more out of it by staying long-term, not job hopping. Definitely apply if you're looking to get great training and development in project management for a software and tech company, especially as a way to start your project management career. The process kicks off with a phone interview, then a face-to-face interview with some logic tests. After that, there's an assessment day with several project management tasks to gauge your work attitude and how you handle tough situations. This is followed by a presentation and then final interviews with the Head of Project Management and the director.

So I got this call from a guy and he sent over some brochure about law grads going into IT management without any experience needed. I thought that was interesting so I sent my CV. I got a call for an interview the very next day. I took a day off work and spent £150! to get there. Once I arrived, a lady took me to do an online test, it had 23 questions and was pretty easy. After that, I went in for a formal chat. He asked me 3 questions, and I asked him about 10 (which shows who was really interested). I answered all his questions and he seemed kind of impressed. He said to expect an email and that I'd likely meet with directors to talk about the role and salary. I thought I had the job! Then I got an email saying, "As you may know we have received many applications some of which have been a better match for the requirements of this position in terms of their qualifications, interview presentation or prior relevant experience." I was confused because he said no experience was needed, and I didn't even do a presentation! He also asked about qualifications, which was weird since it was supposed to be for law grads. So, it was a total waste of time, I lost a day's pay for these... geeks.

The process started with a 30 min call with a recruiter from Geeks. Over half the interview was the recruiter talking about the company and the selection process. They asked just two or three simple questions about yourself and your background, and they seemed to expect very short answers. Then, there's a 60 min test, which was the most silly test I've ever taken. Maybe it's because I'm not a native English speaker, but I couldn't understand most of the questions.
