Had a quick chat to see if I knew basic IT stuff, then they called me back to talk about the offer. The job pays minimum wage in Quebec. The place seems nice to work at, but when it's quiet with no customers, it can drag on and get a bit boring.

The interview was a one-on-one, and they asked basic tech questions. I didn't get an invite for the next steps.

I applied to GS as a filler gig until I landed a role more aligned with my career path. The interview process involved two steps. First, a 20-minute phone call discussing my work history and general IT knowledge. The second was an online Teams meeting with the hiring manager, which was super chill and felt more like a get-to-know-you session, though it included some technical questions to check my skills. It was scheduled for an hour but ran longer because we just chatted. It was really relaxed, almost like talking with a friend. The hiring manager saw my experience and decided I'd be a good fit for the repair team, then offered me the job. It's not for everyone; the pay is quite low given the challenging daily client issues you deal with. You need a lot of patience because many clients are older and not tech-savvy, requiring you to guide them through tasks. The support team was great, though—everyone was friendly and helpful with tech problems. I was really surprised by how many smart people work at GS! I stayed for 7 months before finding a programming job that was a better match.
