I was invited for an interview less than a week out, and even though they knew I was abroad, they interviewed me first. The questions were standard, and I thought it went well. I didn't get the job, just a generic email saying they picked someone else, no feedback. I found this disrespectful, especially since I traveled for the interview at my own expense. They could have given me more time to plan travel, but they didn't seem to care since I was paying. The whole process took over 2 months for just one interview stage, which felt too long. It felt like the recruitment was all about them and poorly managed.

I met with the manager of the department I would be working under. I had initially met him at a job fair and impressed him enough to get a call for an interview. The interview was one on one and very relaxed. The manager asked me the typical interview questions about teamwork and my weaknesses. He seemed like he had already made up his mind to hire me and this was mostly a formality assuming I didn't give him really dumb answers. After the interview we walked around and he showed me the different departments I would be doing cost analysis for and explained more about the responsibilities of the job.
