GE Capital Analyst Interview Questions
& Process

The office environment is very professional, with a recently renovated building featuring modern workstations and offices. There's a nice lobby and a large reception area on the conference room floor, along with updated conference, VCS, and Telepresence rooms. If your manager isn't available to interview you in person, they'll conduct the interview via video conference. The whole process can be lengthy, potentially taking months, but it's generally considered worthwhile.

Applied online and got an email a few days later to set up an initial phone screening. The initial screening was with a third-party recruiter and had pretty basic questions about the job requirements. After that, I got a phone interview with the hiring manager, which again had basic questions about my experience. About a week later, I was invited for an on-site interview where I met with the hiring manager and two of his superiors, with each interview lasting about 40 minutes. Everyone was really nice. The questions were more technical, and I also got asked some behavioral questions. About a week after the on-site interviews, I had another 30-minute phone interview with an HR manager. The questions were similar to the on-site ones. They told me they'd make a decision within a week and that it was down to me and one or two other candidates. I didn't hear anything for about two weeks, and I figured I was probably not in the running anymore. About three weeks after my phone interview with the HR manager, I got an automated email saying I was no longer being considered. I knew they had interviewed some internal candidates, which can sometimes put external candidates at a disadvantage, but I felt like I had a fair shot at showing my skills and qualifications.

So I went through a few interviews for one job. First, a phone interview with the hiring manager. Then, three more phone interviews on different days with people on the team, including an HR Manager, which was inconvenient. After that, I did a video call with the hiring manager and met another team member onsite. I didn't hear back for like 3-4 weeks. Then a different recruiter called to say I didn't get that role, but they had another one. I had a phone interview for that second job with its hiring manager, and then more phone calls with the recruiter about salary. The whole thing took 5 months to get an offer, which is pretty typical for GE Capital.
