GAVI's interview process is quite lengthy and demanding, involving numerous stages that require significant effort from candidates. They offer minimal information to help assess if the company is a good fit. The initial step is a video interview, which feels awkward since you're talking to a camera without anyone present. Next, there's a comprehensive written assessment with several parts. The final stage is a panel interview where they probed deeply into my experience and skills, yet provided little detail about the role, benefits, or the company itself. The process was also marked by disorganization, with delays and rescheduled appointments throughout.

After submitting application via the dedicated portal, there was a selection process. First, a video test where I had to record answers on the Sonru app. Then, a timed written test to be uploaded on the platform. This was followed by a panel interview with the manager and internal clients. After that, a manager interview. Finally, an interview with the Director.

It was a really involved interview process with 3 parts: a SONRU video interview, a written assessment, and then a panel interview. I didn't get the job because they hired an internal candidate, which was a bummer. But I thought the process was fun and engaging, and overall it was a good, professional experience. I know internal candidates often have an edge, but I hope everyone was considered fairly.

I started with an online interview using Sonru. You get a question, have a minute to read it, and then it records your response. I had 5 questions, all technical, and a final question to see if I had anything to add. The questions were about what should be in a results framework, etc. Then I had this written test: Instructions: review the M&E framework of a country application for GAVI Health Systems Strengthening support. In no more than 2 pages, write a critique of the M&E framework and the country application. Please identify strengths, limitations, and advice for improvement of the model and the country application. I had 60 minutes to answer and email it. After that, I had an interview with a panel of HR, the M&E lead, and someone from the country support team. The whole process from application to the panel interview took 4 months. The panel interview involved questions about my skills (with STAR-type questions and more).
