First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Garrett Advancing Motion.
Mechanical Engineer
Came through campus recruitment. It started with a group discussion where we had 10 minutes each for technical and non-technical topics. Then, they asked questions based on my resume about my skills and experience. After that, there were technical questions covering Manufacturing, Materials, GDNT, and general Automobile engineering. Lastly, HR questions.
- Can you describe how you would manufacture an object that's in the room right now? Also, what would be the manufacturing process differences between two distinct features that I give you?
- Questions about skills and experience based on resume.
- Technical questions on Manufacturing.
Mechanical Engineer
They started by introducing the company and the team, then I had the chance to ask questions. After that, there was an introduction and some technical questions. They weren't too difficult, and the supervisor was quite nice, but it wasn't super easy either.
- What are your future plans?
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What is your experience?
Mechanical Engineer Intern
The interview process began with a short interview with HR and then an hour and a half long technical interview with the hiring manager. Overall very positive experience. The second interview was thorough from basic mechanical engineer knowledge to more specific questions relating the position.
- Can you explain the working of a turbocharger?
- What do you know about Fourier functions?
- Given some mechanical problems, can you provide solutions?
