Designer
The process was pretty fast, with three rounds total. The last round was onsite. It was a good experience overall, and they asked me a lot of questions. The final round involved a design challenge and a one-hour presentation of the results.
- Describe a time you had a disagreement with stakeholders and how you managed it.
- Can you walk me through a design challenge?
- Can you present your deliverable within an hour?

Applied online and then a recruiter called about a week later to set up a phone interview. It was a basic phone screen with someone from HR. They were friendly and I felt good about it. About a week after that, I had a second round phone interview with a couple of ID managers. They seemed uninterested from the beginning and didn't ask many questions. They also didn't seem very enthusiastic when I asked them questions. It felt like they had already decided about me before the interview but were just going through the motions.
- Could you tell me what you know about our company?
- What makes you passionate about industrial design?
- Can you walk me through your design process?
Industrial Designer
So, the whole thing kicked off with an HR call. It was a super chill phone chat, mostly just to get a feel for who I am. They wanted to see my personality and I got to ask stuff about the job and what it's like here.
- Can you tell me about your strengths?
- What are your aspirations for the future?
- What motivated your interest in Garmin?
