So first there was an online assessment, then 3 interviews. The first one was a chat with HR about my experience, then a deep dive into my resume plus a coding question with a senior engineer. The last interview was with the hiring manager, and it also had coding questions, but they were a bit unusual.

The HR rep was nice, but honestly, the interviewers need better training. It was a pretty rough experience overall. Most interviewers didn't even introduce themselves and just dove straight into Leetcode problems. They seemed to only care about the final answer and not how you arrived at it. They were also not very engaging, giving short answers or avoiding questions. It felt like they had a specific solution in mind, and your answer had to match it exactly, with one interviewer even saying they were looking for a specific approach even though mine was correct. There was also a communication gap between HR and the interviewers; I expected system design questions twice but got the usual Leetcode ones instead. It was a bad experience, and I'm almost glad I didn't get the job.

You would first have a chat with HR and then they'll arrange a flight for you to Singapore to visit their headquarters. All the costs including hotel and flight will be covered by Garena. Essentially, you won't have to spend any money except for food if you decide not to go sightseeing in Singapore. After you arrive in Singapore, the entire interview process should wrap up in one or two days. You might have several on-site interviews at their headquarters, and these don't have a fixed duration like Google's. Following the interviews, you should receive a verbal offer within a few hours if they decide to proceed.

  • Can you answer some basic C++ questions?
  • Can you answer some basic SQL questions?
  • Tell me about network knowledge, specifically the 3-way and 4-way handshake.
