Software Engineer
So, the interview process starts with an Online Assessment, this is the first elimination round. It includes aptitude questions like logical, reasoning, and English. You might get some basic programming or coding questions, and sometimes pseudo code questions too. The main goal here is to check your analytical and basic coding skills. Only those who get shortlisted move on to the next stage. Then comes the Technical Interview, which is like the most important round. They'll ask you to explain your projects, which is VERY IMPORTANT. They'll also cover Selenium concepts, Java basics (like OOPs, collections, strings), API testing basics, and frameworks such as TestNG and POM. They might also ask about real-time scenarios. The questions here are usually based on your experience and the tools you've used. After that, there's a Managerial Round, focusing on your thinking process and real work experience. Expect questions about challenges you've faced in projects, how you handle deadlines, team collaboration, and client communication. Sometimes, this round can be combined with the technical one. Finally, the HR Round, which is easy but still important. They'll ask you to tell them about yourself, why you want to join Capgemini, your salary expectations, notice period, and if you're open to relocation.
- Can you tell me about your projects?
- What do you know about Selenium concepts?
- Can you explain Java basics like OOPs, collections, and strings?
Software Engineer
first up is a call with HR, then you do some online tests like aptitude, communication, and sometimes game-based ones. after that, there are one or two technical interviews where they check your coding skills, past projects, and basic concepts. the last interview is with HR again, focusing on behavioral stuff and if you fit the company culture. it can be a bit different if you're a fresher or experienced, or depending on the area. usually takes about 2-4 weeks to finish.
- Can you tell me about your experience as detailed in your resume?
Programmer
After applying online, I had a phone interview where they asked about my interest in the program and my resume background. Then, they sent me an online test with a time limit, covering C++, 3D algorithms, and OpenGL. A few weeks later, I passed and had a Skype interview with a local developer and technical leader. This interview was about an hour long and focused on standard behavioral questions. I was rejected about a month after that. I think I wasn't prepared for the questions because I expected a technical interview, and they seemed to be looking for a good fit for the position.
- Regarding OpenGL optimization, what are some questions?
- After all these years learning C++, what do you think C++ can bring to game development?
- Can you share some examples of communication issues with your colleagues from your past work experiences?
