First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Gameloft.
C++ Developer
I started with an online test that took 100 minutes and had 20 questions, focusing on C++, general programming, and some coding. They mentioned it was the same test for seniors. I couldn't finish two questions due to time. A week later, HR emailed, saying I passed and wanted to interview me. First, I spoke with HR, and although I was nervous because it was my first interview, the interviewer was nice. I felt I didn't do great in that part. Then, I met the lead developer. He was impressed with my test results and didn't ask me technical questions. Instead, he inquired about my interests and discussed the company with me.
- Tell me about your strengths and weaknesses. Also, why are you interested in working here? What do you know about game development and what games have you made yourself?
- Given a scenario, is the diamond problem possible?
- Can you elaborate on virtual functions?
C++ Developer
So, first up was a technical test, took about 4 hours and I had internet access. After that, I had an HR interview. The technical part was pretty heavy on questions covering coding functions with parameters, C++ specifics like virtual inheritance, and also assessing how well I can research.
- Do you play games?
C++ Developer
So there were 3 main steps. First, I talked to the recruiter. Then, I had a 4-hour skills test. Finally, I interviewed with the team leads.
- Can you tell me about your experience? Do you have experience with any particular tools?
