Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Gallup.
Relationship Manager
The interview stages included a phone interview, an online assessment, a manager interview, and then an upper manager interview. Gallup's process feels more like a conversation and isn't too intimidating. It was a good experience overall and offers a clear view of the company culture.
- Could you describe what success looks like from your perspective?
Manager
This was a pretty unique interview journey. Gallup really prioritizes your inherent talent above everything else – experience, skills, and knowledge come second. My process included: First, a web-based assessment that took about 30-40 minutes; you can't really prep for it, just go with your gut. Then, telephone interviews – as a Manager, I had two. I actually liked talking to the consultant; it felt like I got to really open up about my thoughts and experience. Again, no real prep needed, it's more about how you think and giving concrete examples of when you lived by certain ideas. After those, I had a call with the Hiring Manager because setting up the in-person interview took a while due to scheduling. We chatted more about my background, why I'm interested, and my hopes for the role, plus I got to ask tons of questions. Finally, a half-day in-person session. I met my Hiring Manager, other management folks, and had lunch with some key people I'd work with. It wasn't super intense, more about seeing if my expectations lined up with the company's and if I'd vibe with the team. It's definitely longer than usual, but they're serious about finding natural talent and ensuring you'll succeed.
- Can you share your personal work style and preferences?
- What aspects of a job do you find most appealing and least appealing?
- What drives your motivation in a professional setting?
Relationship Manager
I got through 2 rounds of interviews. They were all online Meyers-Briggs style assessments and I didn't even talk to anyone about the job. Each one took like 45 minutes.
- Questions about specific situations presented on a scale.
