Event Manager
So I went through three interviews, a phone call with HR, a phone call with the hiring manager, and a Skype call with the hiring manager and someone else. Everything seemed good, so they invited me for a face to face interview at their office. But right after I accepted, HR told me they had to postpone because they still had more phone and Skype interviews to do with other people, and they'd be in touch. Two weeks passed, and I heard nothing. I tried reaching out to two different HR people twice, and still no response. It’s one thing to not hear back after just a quick chat, but to do three interviews, get an in-person interview invitation, and then just be ghosted with no explanation? That’s really not cool and super unprofessional. If this is how they treat people during the hiring process, I’m honestly glad I dodged a bullet not working for them.
- What's your approach when a coworker gives you suggestions about your work that you didn't ask for?
Account Manager
I started with a phone call from the recruiter, but they were pretty late calling me, like 30 minutes past our scheduled time, which felt unprofessional. Then I had a 2-hour in-person interview at their office, and it seemed to go well – I felt like I was a good fit for the role. I emailed the recruiter to follow up about the next steps but never heard back. Since the recruiter stopped responding, I started looking for other jobs. If this is typical of how they handle interviews, I'm actually okay not getting an offer. The recruiter and the company could really improve their process.

Content Strategist
I applied for two jobs, Content Manager and Content Strategist, with the strategist role being more senior. They interviewed me for the strategist job over Skype and it seemed to go well. I followed up with the recruiter after a couple of weeks about both roles. She mentioned they were still interviewing but seemed surprised I was interested in the Content Manager role too. I followed up again a couple weeks later and was told they had hired for the Content Manager role and that they didn't think I was qualified for the Content Strategist position.
- Tell me about a negative work experience and what you learned from it.
Website Implementation Specialist
I had interviews with 3 different managers, all done online. They asked me a bunch of questions about my past work and what kind of jobs I'm looking for. The whole thing was pretty straightforward and well-organized. It felt like they really knew what qualities they were after in a candidate.
