First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at G2i.
Frontend Developer
The interview was pretty straightforward. It involved 12 live coding questions, split evenly between Typescript and React.js. My interviewer was a really nice guy, and I actually enjoyed the experience. We discussed topics like re-rendering and the inner workings of JavaScript.
- How do you prevent re-rendering?
- Can you explain how JavaScript works?
- We went through 12 live coding questions, covering both Typescript and React.js.
UX Design Manager
This company has a strange vibe, with a Christian agenda that seems a bit cultish, evident from their website saying "powered by Jesus." They talk about supporting employee health, but the first step is an automated one-way video interview. Candidates have to just talk into the void answering detailed questions better suited for a live conversation. It just screams inexperience and cluelessness in hiring. What's even worse is the job description didn't even mention this one-way video part, which was outlined as the interview process.
- Can you elaborate on your background in UX strategy and design?
- Walk me through a difficult design project you managed.
- What's your method for user research and using feedback?
AI Software Engineer
Do not apply guys. They are spammers!! There was a short video recorded in hireflix and then a live coding assessment. They took a 35min leetcode interview and after the interview is over they told me that it was amazing. I was able to solve the question and they gave me a stellar review. They also told that they will provide 100% feedback (regardless of its nature) in max 1 week. Its almost 4 weeks now and I got no reply from them. I followed up with 3 guys and none of them care to respond me about my feedback. Again they will just waste your time so do not consider applying here! I doubt whether they are even a genuine company.
- How to solve a string related question in O(n) time complexity instead of O(n^2)?
Senior Software Engineer
I sent in my application through their website. After some time, I got an invite for a quick chat with a senior technical recruiter. It was a 30-minute call where I talked about myself and they told me about the company. Then, they scheduled my next interview. The following interview, about 40 minutes long, was a technical one with a lead developer. They asked a bunch of questions about JavaScript, React, and general programming, using an online tool. This second interview was recorded. It felt pretty straightforward for me, but I might be biased since I knew the answers to everything. About a week later, I tried reaching out to the recruiter I'd spoken with, but no reply. I didn't hear anything for over 3 weeks after the second interview. Then, I got an automated email saying, "Congratulations, you're a G2i Member". This is why I'm not happy with this experience – I was aiming for a core team role, not to join their platform as a developer. Nobody has gotten back to me since that last interview, which was nearly a month ago.
- Tell me about React hooks.
- How are values passed via the URL?
- Could you describe imperative and declarative programming?
