Software Engineer
I got the interview through the recruiter. He set up the first interview with the company. Then I had an interview over their product Fuze, which is a video conferencing software. I had to install the product before the interview, and it's a really nice product! I installed it on my laptop and tablet. The interview was with the Sr. Director of Engineering. He introduced himself and his experience, and I did the same. It was a very technical interview but in a friendly style. He asked a lot of questions on different areas like C/C++, Audio/Video/VoIP.
- Can you explain the encoding of audio/video in the SIP protocol, and what is MOS?
Software Engineer
The process is long and takes a lot of time. The technical interviews consist of solving algorithm problems like HackerRank, Leetcode (touching on concepts like recursion, Big O notation, optimizations, etc.) with different people. At the end of the 3 interviews, they share their feedback among themselves and decide if they want to move forward with you or not, if they are in doubt they might ask you for another technical interview to break the tie. This approach is interesting because you have at least 3 opportunities to show what you know and the opinions are isolated from interview to interview.
- Tell me about a challenging work experience you're proud of overcoming.
- Can you solve algorithm problems like those found on HackerRank or LeetCode?
- Explain concepts related to recursion.
Software Engineer
It was for an iOS and OSX software engineer position. I had a phone interview and then they invited me for an onsite. During the onsite, I spoke with a developer and the director of engineering at the same time. The interview wasn't too hard and had some Mac and iOS related questions. I heard back about a week later saying they were still deciding, and then I never heard from them again.
- Could you discuss the pros and cons of using delegation compared to notifications?
