First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Funko.
Business Analyst
I spent several months interviewing to get into the D365 F&O field. I spoke with two different teams, but didn't get the first role. Then I interviewed with a third team for a different position.
- Can you tell me about your experience with D365 F&O and the modules you've used?
Business Systems Analyst
A recruiter reached out about the Sr ERP Business Systems Analyst role. After I confirmed interest, we scheduled an intro call. This screening call was brief, and the recruiter said they'd pass me to the hiring manager. A few days later, I had a video interview with the hiring manager, which went well. Then I got an invite for a technical round with the PM and SWE lead. When I said the times didn't work, I was ghosted. An hour later, the same recruiter contacted me again. I assumed they moved on because I requested a different time. A couple of weeks later, I was re-invited for the round with the PM & SWE lead (I noticed the job had been reposted a few times). That round also went well. The next day, I got an invite for the final round with the VP of tech. This also went well, and the VP gave positive feedback. After all that, I was ghosted again, with no rejection or feedback, and the position is now closed.
- Can you describe the kinds of data integrations you have experience with?
Marketing Manager
I went through three rounds of interviews with Funko. The first two rounds were pretty standard, involving conversations with HR and the hiring manager. The third round required me to present a business case. After my presentation, the team indicated they'd provide feedback by the next Tuesday. However, I didn't hear back until the following Friday, when I received a generic rejection email. It was quite unexpected not to get the feedback they promised. I also noticed the job had been reposted on LinkedIn the previous Monday.
- What qualities do you seek in a manager?
Creative
The recruiter contacted me fairly soon after I applied. We then had a phone screen that was pretty standard, and I was advanced to speak with the team manager. That conversation seemed okay, though I felt it wasn't my best performance, which was on me. The questions asked were normal and not hard. The interviewer was easy to talk to. After that, communication ceased. It's been over a month since I've heard anything from them. It felt unprofessional and disappointing. I sent a thank you note the morning after the interview and didn't get the usual response of "thank you for following up, I'll pass that on to the interviewer!" which was a bit odd. I didn't hear back for two weeks. I figured maybe I didn't get the job, which is fine. I sent a follow-up just in case, as I've had companies inform me they've actually eliminated the position mid-process, so I thought maybe something was up. And now I've followed up twice more since then and haven't had any contact at all. Even a generic rejection email would be better than this silence. There were some minor red flags in the job description and interview process like "we're a bit like a start up ha ha" and "can you handle a high & ever changing workload?", but I guess those were confirmed red flags, and I definitely won't be applying here again, even if a job looks like a perfect fit. If this is how you treat candidates, I wonder how you treat employees?
- Can you discuss your experience and qualifications related to the role and workload?
