First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fundbox.
Software Engineer
The interview process involved an initial onsite technical interview with two interviewers where I was given a riddle and a SQL schema problem. This was followed by a second onsite session that included three interviews: one with HR, one with the Head of R&D, and another technical interview similar to the first. The technical questions were relatively easy compared to those at larger tech companies. It took Fundbox two weeks after the second onsite to respond, and that was only after I followed up with HR. They sent a generic rejection email saying they were impressed but ultimately decided against moving forward, which I found disappointing given the time invested in the interview process.
- A riddle
- Given a SQL schema, solve a problem

When I arrived at the office, they offered water, and I had to get it myself from the kitchen, which felt awkward with people around. The interview included an algorithm problem and a system design question. The algorithm part was tough, and the interviewers seemed impatient. They immediately dismissed my initial, less efficient solution. I struggled to find a better approach, and they hinted, but their hints were unclear, and I didn't understand how they differed from my first idea, which they had already rejected. After 30 minutes of being stuck and feeling humiliated, they had to show me the solution, which wasn't that different from my initial thoughts, just using a different data structure. I felt it was unnecessary to prolong that part for so long. I received a generic rejection email a couple of days later. Despite the interviewers being nice people, the overall experience was negative.
- An algorithm question involving arrays and a system design question were posed.
Software Engineer
I found the process to be really genuine and practical. The technical parts were just the right amount of challenging and seemed very related to the work I'd be doing at Fundbox. Talking with the team members was really inviting and enjoyable; everyone there seemed very down to earth.
