First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fundbox.
Backend Engineer
I had the initial phone screening with a recruiter where they gave an overview of the opportunity, the company goals, and next interview steps. I was waiting for them to follow-up to schedule a second interview with one of the tech leads, but radio-silence ever since then.
- What's prompting your job search, and what specifically about this Fundbox role caught your eye?
- What about this Fundbox opening interested you, and why are you looking for a new job?
Senior Backend Engineer
The interview process started with two rounds where I met with a Team Leader and a Senior/Team Leader. These involved general algorithm questions on a board and a concurrency problem. Then, there were two more rounds: a one-on-one with the Team Leader and another one-on-one with the HR rep. The final interview was a one-on-one with the Group Leader/VP. The overall process was effective and friendly, and the HR staff were amazing, helping everything run smoothly.
- General and common algorithm interview questions were asked.
Backend Software Engineer
The interview process included a phone screening, two technical interviews, one with the Head of Recruiting, and an HR interview. It was a really friendly process, and the HR team was super communicative throughout. They even offered food, drinks, and free parking on interview days. Everything moved quickly, with responses usually coming back in a day or two.
- The technical interviews mostly focused on algorithmic problems, where you had to provide a pseudocode solution. There were two questions in each interview, typically starting with a simpler data structure problem and then moving to a more complex system design question, like creating a process for Fundbox's loan disbursement and payment system.
- The technical interviews focused on algorithms, asking for pseudocode. The first question was usually a basic data structure problem.
- The second question in the technical interviews involved designing a system that handles the business logic for loan approvals and processing payments to bank accounts based on specific dates and conditions, similar to Fundbox's operations.
