First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fundação do ABC.
Enfermeiro
Hospital Pharmacy Assistant
It was a test, then a manager interview, then a group interview, and a clinical exam. They also asked about political ties or with NGOs, if any relatives have worked there before, age, if you have children, if you've worked there before, if you're studying, and if you have intentions for a career plan.
- Professional experience
- Why did you leave your last job?
- Do you have political ties or ties to NGOs?
Nurse
The interview was a group session focusing on people management, general management, leadership, organization, and planning. It included a clinical case study. The scenario involved a 58-year-old patient with hypertension and diabetes arriving at the Emergency Room with chest pain, sweating, and shortness of breath. Their vital signs were: BP 170/100 mmHg, HR 110 bpm, RR 24 breaths/min, SpO2 88% on room air, Temp 36.7°C. The doctor had not yet arrived. You were asked about your initial actions as the nurse.
- Tell me about your experience level in this field.
- Given the critical situation with the patient in the ER before the doctor arrives, what are your immediate nursing interventions?
- How much experience do you have in this area?
Nursing Technician
I sent my resume and cover letter by email. They got back to me by phone a day or two later, inviting me to the selection process. The test was easy, with general questions about the area, and the cut-off score is 6. We waited in the waiting room for the test results, and for those who passed, we were sent straight to an interview with HR. The interview with HR was calm and dynamic, individual and adapted to the candidate's interest. I really liked it! After a week, I had positive feedback and they scheduled me for an interview with the manager of the unit and sector where I would work. The interview lasted about 25/30 minutes, with two managers, direct and technical questions, no beating around the bush. Based on what I answered, each one noted something on a piece of paper.
- What are the patient safety goals and accreditations?
- Describe hypothetical situations with patients and your potential reactions.
- Tell me about your academic background.
