First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies.
Process Engineer
The first step is usually a quick chat with the recruiter to see if you're a good fit. They'll want to know about your background, what you're good at, how much you want to make, and when you can start. It's also your chance to ask about the job and company. This call is short, about 15-30 minutes, and leads to the next interview with the hiring manager.
- Could you give me an overview of your resume?
- Describe your current or last position.
- What are your main skills and strongest points?
Validation Specialist
So for the Validation Specialist role, first you'll have a quick chat with HR. After that, it's all about the technical stuff, where we check your knowledge on validation protocols, how you deal with regulatory compliance like FDA and GMP, and your risk assessment and documentation skills. We'll also see how you solve problems and if you're familiar with validation tools like IQ, OQ, PQ, and industry standards. Lastly, there's a chat with a manager to see if you're a good fit for the team.
- Can you tell me about your background with validation protocols, regulatory compliance, or how you've managed audits?
- What's your experience level concerning validation protocols, regulatory compliance, or dealing with audits?
Production Technologist
There were 2 interviews. The first one was a group activity. We had 50 minutes to solve a puzzle with 4 other people, and we had to put it together in under a minute. The second interview was with 2 interviewers and they asked about my competency and technical knowledge.
- What makes you want to be in the biotech field?
- What brought you to apply to fujifilm?
- Can you share an instance of a risk you faced and how you managed it?
Operational Quality Specialist
Recruiter reached out on LinkedIn for an initial chat about the role and my qualifications. They tried to push me into a lower-level role initially because my experience was slightly less than the 5+ years required, but I wasn't interested in an entry-level position. The manager interview felt like they weren't really invested in hiring. It was a basic discussion of my background, but the interviewer seemed distracted, lacked energy, and barely engaged. I ended up asking most of the questions and sharing my experience for most of the 20 minutes. I got a rejection email 9 months later. For a big company, I expected a more structured process and better engagement, especially since they are hiring for a new site and the role is still posted.
