Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fugro.
Engineer
The interview process was quite long, and I didn't get a lot of specifics about the job or the role itself. They did ask some technical questions that were pretty easy and related to the job. The two people I interviewed with were really professional and made me feel welcome. They also gave me a tour of the workshop and introduced me to some of my potential coworkers.
- What are your long-term career aspirations over the next five years?
Project Engineer
So, I had about 4 or 5 one-on-one interviews, each lasting 30 minutes, and then a 1-hour presentation. I met with engineers of different levels: a VP, two principal engineers, and a senior project engineer. Oh, and I had lunch with the manager and some of the new hires.
- What made you decide to go into geotechnical engineering?
Design Engineer
The interview process was great; they focused a lot on my final thesis project as a Master's student. A lot of questions were further enquired within my final thesis project, and then the typical behavioural questions of talking about myself and why this company and why this specific role.
- Could you elaborate on your final project?
- Could you tell me about yourself?
- Why are you interested in working for this company?
