First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at FTI Consulting.
Intern
It was pretty much what I expected. First, they looked at my CV. Then, I had to do some online questions that were pre-recorded. I was given 3 minutes to plan and 3 minutes to answer each. After that, I had in-person interviews at the AC. One was a panel with 3 people, and the second was a 5-minute chat with a director, which felt more like a casual conversation.
- Tell me about your competencies.
- Why are you interested in 'FTI'?
- What makes you want to pursue strategic communication?
Analyst Intern
So the first interview was basically behavioral, they asked me some questions about my research experience. Then there was a Super Day which consisted of three interviews, mostly behavioral stuff and also some questions about my research and technical experience. I ended up dropping out of the process because I got another offer.
- Can you explain a research project you've worked on so it's understandable to someone without a technical background?
Business Transformation Intern
So basically there was one behavioral interview that was about 45 minutes. They asked me about my interest in the role, consulting in general, and FTI. They also went over my past experience. The last round had 3 interviews: two were behavioral and one was a case interview. The case was pretty simple, not like the tough ones you see at MBB firms.
- Why are you interested in consulting?
- What about FTI interests you?
- Given the provided facts on cost and revenue, which approach yields higher profitability?
