Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at FTI Consulting.
Associate Director
A recruiter from FTI USA reached out, did a quick check, and asked for my resume. Then, they set up three interviews: an intro with the boss, a general technical one with the team, and a business case with the top boss and the CFO. They conducted all interviews in both Spanish and English.
- What kind of clients have you served?
- Do you have trouble not having people reporting to you?
- Why are you looking to change jobs?
Senior Associate
The interview process included a phone screen, an interview with the hiring manager, a 90-minute take-home test, and a final 3-hour on-site interview with a case study. During the on-site, the MD was late and didn't even see me out afterwards. I spent hours preparing, a day traveling, and paid to go on-site, only to never hear back. It's unbelievable how they operate and treat candidates. Glad I didn't end up there.
- Can you tell me about your experience?
Associate
The company gave us a case study, which involved simplified financial statements and some questions. It required basic accounting knowledge and touched upon debt restructuring and operational turnarounds. It was a fun task. Then, there was an SMD interview, which was about an hour long. It was a friendly interaction without any technical questions.
- What motivates you?
- How do you work in a team?
