Customer Service Representative
I got referred by an agency. I parked and went inside the building to the front desk. I told them I was there for an interview and they asked me to fill out a sheet with my availability. An interviewer met with me a few minutes later. They gave me a tour of the office and the break rooms. I was then taken into the interview room. It was a large room where another person was being interviewed on the other side of the room. I answered some questions and was then given a simple computer assessment.
- What is your procedure if a customer wants to return an item?
- How would you handle a customer wanting to return an item over the phone?
Customer Service Representative
About 20 of us showed up for a group screening at the Downers Grove HQ. We all had to fill out a 4-page application asking about past jobs. After that, there was a spelling test, a grammar test, and a data entry test. Then, we filled out some personal info so FTD could run a background check. If you passed those tests, you went to a conference room where an HR person talked to about 5-6 people about the job. We also did a cheek swab drug test at the end of the meeting. Note: there was no interview, just skills testing. I started training two days after the "interview."

The interview process involved some easy questions. There were also quick grammar and spelling tests on the computer, and a 10-minute quiz about the FTD website. Before the actual interview questions, the supervisor showed me the workspace, the cafeteria, and other areas. Even though I saw the place, I still wouldn't want to work there. I don't know why, but I didn't feel like I wanted an offer, maybe because it's seasonal work.
- What's your approach when dealing with a customer who is angry?
