Behavioral Technical Other

I applied for a couple of jobs and got two entry-level interviews right away. The first one I thought went really well, but I got an email saying I wasn't offered the position, which is fine. For the second interview, I found out I was talking to someone who was going to write up a report about me and send it to a team I didn't even get to interview with to decide if I'd be hired. It seemed weird that I wasn't interviewing with the actual hiring team. I figured it would be a video interview with the site manager or HR, not someone who just interviews people for different facilities every 45 minutes and then sends their opinion. It feels like they're just reading my resume, so what's the point of this middleman? How can they know if I'm a good fit without meeting me? They could have just read my resume and moved on. For the second interview, I didn't get an email about not being selected; I found out by logging into the website a few days later and seeing 'not selected.' The first interview, I found out the next day by email, but the second one, nothing. I was really excited during the online assessment and after receiving the email to schedule an interview, and I expressed that excitement in both interviews, thinking they went well. I don't know what else I could have done differently. During the interview, they gave me information I'd need if I got the job, which made me optimistic. It's an entry-level job I'm capable of doing. It's just strange to find out they're assessing me to send to another team. I know I mentioned it, but it still blows my mind. I worked in HR and have had interviews before and never not met with my potential manager or supervisor. It's an unnecessary extra step to have someone write up an opinion about me instead of just meeting me, even via video, so strange.

You'll get an email to pick a date and time, and then a confirmation. We'll chat about your experience and skills. Then you talk to the employer and get a response about whether you were accepted and what the next steps are. After that, I'm not really sure. Keep calling and asking questions. You'll get an email letting you know if they want to move forward with hiring you.

Behavioral Technical

It was a simple automated interview, then an in-person structured interview and I think there might have been another one after that, like a 2 on 1. It turns out shifts are just estimates and they can call you in early or make you stay late. There are no holidays and you might not get days off for months. I can't make it work because I'm unavailable after 7 PM to take my kids to school. They seem to have really high standards for a job that pays okay, and they just run people into the ground. The manager seemed really stressed and irritated when I said it wouldn't work. They'll probably give up on high expectations and hire temps or anyone when they realize they need people, typical manufacturing.
