First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fried Frank.
Legal Associate
I had a two-hour conversation with 4 people, associates and partners. The questions were pretty standard and felt like a chat. They didn't really ask much about my behavior. They left a good chunk of time for me to ask them stuff about what they do and about the firm.

- What is your motivation for pursuing a career in Law?
Associate
It was a pretty standard BigLaw interview setup. Started with a screening interview with an associate, which was pretty chill and about my background, what I like, and if I fit the firm. Then I got invited back for a callback, where I met with five attorneys, a mix of associates and partners. Everyone had their own way of doing things, so we talked about my past work, writing, the firm's practice areas, and the firm's vibe.
- What draws you to the X practice group?
Graphic Designer
This has to have been the worst interview of my life. Not only did she show up to the interview three minutes late, she had an obvious attitude from the beginning. Instead of apologizing for her lateness, she went straight into asking me questions about my resume without even a greeting or providing a bit of background on the firm nor this position. She then proceeded to tell me that I needed to change the font on my resume due to it being "hard to read" ( it was 9.5 pt Raleway and I've never been told that was an issue on my resume before.) Besides that, it was a normal interview.
- What are your top 3 go-to design programs?
Paralegal
So there were four rounds in total. I spoke with paralegals, associates, and partners. The first couple of rounds were pretty chill, but they got harder as I went on. The team environment felt cold, and some comments were a bit off. The last interview was unexpectedly tough, almost like they were trying to trick me with unrealistic questions for a paralegal role. Overall, it was a negative experience, and I ended up taking a job somewhere else.
- Can you describe your teamwork abilities?
