It didn't take long to interview. I heard back about an interview in a few days after applying. After that it was pretty fast and simple. They replied fast and were really flexible about when I could interview.

After working as a temp or sub for a few months, I sent in lots of applications for jobs I thought I was qualified for. Talking to people, it seems like it's usually best to apply where you've subbed before and they know you. A few days after the job posting was taken down, I got a call for an interview. The interview was a panel with the principal, vice principal, office manager, and a 'community member' (usually a parent volunteer). They asked pre-planned questions from the district office. It was pretty serious with not much small talk until after the questions, then it felt more relaxed. I got the job offer later that morning and was able to sort out payroll, my badge, and signing contacts within 3 days. This position needed to be filled fast, unlike my last job where it took over a month to hear back.

The application itself was a mess, designed for all positions in the district instead of just substitute teachers, so many parts didn't even apply. It took a full month to get hired, which feels like a long time for this kind of job. The actual interview part was okay, but figuring out the schedule for it was a real pain.

It's a lengthy process to get into the district as expected, but once fingerprints and background checks are cleared, interviews begin. It's mostly panel interviews with a list of questions (found online). I suggest researching the school and position and having your own questions ready.
