Account Executive
I was contacted by a recruiter through my resume online. I had a smooth phone interview and then was invited for an in-person interview the next week. The first interview was with the recruiter; the questions were easy at first, focusing on my background and how I could help them. They were clearly assessing my sales personality. The second round was with a Sales Manager and was tougher, with detailed sales questions, objections handling, and some behavioral questions. Surprisingly, I was asked to do a sales pitch, which I think I handled well. Afterwards, I was taken to the actual sales floor to meet someone who made me feel very positive about the role and company. The atmosphere on the floor suggested people enjoyed their jobs and the company culture. Finally, I had a third interview with the Sales Director, which was essentially a Q&A session. I came prepared with many questions about the role, the director's background, and the company, which led to a good conversation. They made sure I understood that the job involves a lot of cold calling. I received an offer about four days later and accepted.
- I think I covered most of them in the description above ^^
Account Executive
Applied through their website and a recruiter reached out a few days later to schedule a phone interview that should take about 30 minutes. It was pretty basic and standard, covering my background and past work experience. The recruiter asked how I found out about the role and my interest in it. After the phone chat, she decided to move me to the next step and set up an onsite interview. The interviews involved three parts: a one-on-one with the recruiter, then two separate meetings with different sales managers. The chat with the recruiter was relaxed, similar to the phone screening. She was nice and prepped me for the sales manager meetings. She then gave me a tour before my next interview. The first meeting with a sales manager was typical; he wanted to learn more about me. After that, I went upstairs to shadow an account executive, observing a call to get a feel for the daily job. Finally, I met with the second sales manager, who also wanted to get to know me. The key is to ask many questions and really show them why they should hire you.

It started with a phone call with Jody which went really well. Then I was invited for an in-person interview at the Kansas City, Missouri location. The first interview was with Tessa, and it was easy to talk to her and it went well. She gave me some pointers for the next interview, which would have been with my manager if I got the job. She also gave me a tour of the place and answered a lot of my questions. After that, Kevin, who would be my manager, came in for a second interview. He asked me a few questions, all pretty similar, so I just answered them. They said they'd let me know in about 3-4 days. Kevin walked me out. If you do get the job, there's a third interview with the director. I ended up waiting 6 days and had to reach out because I hadn't heard anything back, and nobody even replied to my email, which is how we were supposed to communicate. I called once and nobody called me back. I feel like they should have at least told me someone else got the job so I could have kept looking for other opportunities sooner.
- Can you tell me why you're interested in sales?
