First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at FREIGHTQUOTE.
Sales
I had a phone interview with HR first, and then I interviewed in person with managers at their big office. They asked a lot of questions. The people there were really nice and friendly. They wanted to know if I would be willing to grind and make a lot of phone calls.

Account Executive
Applied through their website and a recruiter reached out a few days later to schedule a phone interview that should take about 30 minutes. It was pretty basic and standard, covering my background and past work experience. The recruiter asked how I found out about the role and my interest in it. After the phone chat, she decided to move me to the next step and set up an onsite interview. The interviews involved three parts: a one-on-one with the recruiter, then two separate meetings with different sales managers. The chat with the recruiter was relaxed, similar to the phone screening. She was nice and prepped me for the sales manager meetings. She then gave me a tour before my next interview. The first meeting with a sales manager was typical; he wanted to learn more about me. After that, I went upstairs to shadow an account executive, observing a call to get a feel for the daily job. Finally, I met with the second sales manager, who also wanted to get to know me. The key is to ask many questions and really show them why they should hire you.

Manager
So, the process started with a phone interview, then an in-person that was split into three interviews. I had one with HR, one with a higher-up manager, and one with someone on the current team. They also wanted me to do a presentation on how I manage people. The HR and current team interviews went well. The one with the upper manager wasn't great though. She was super late, like 20 minutes, and I had to rush my presentation. She seemed annoyed, like she didn't want to be there and wasn't really paying attention to my presentation. If she was going to be my boss, I wouldn't have taken the job.
- What are some typical interview questions you ask?
- Can you explain your approach to managing people?
Truckload Operations Representative
It was a quick, easy, and painless process for an entry-level job that can be learned on the job in about a month. I had an in-person interview with two different truckload managers. The questions weren't tricky; they were looking for someone with a good attitude who can work with different people and customers.
