First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Freddie Mac.
Technology Intern
Had an online interview with 5 questions on Yello about Freddie Mac and some behavioral stuff. Then a final interview with the Manager and another team member where they asked about my past experiences and some OOP questions. They called me back within 2 weeks.
- What is the difference between a String and a Tuple?
- Tell me about your experience using X technology in a previous internship.
- Can you tell me about your past experiences?
Intern
It was a super fast process. I did a Hirevue, then had one final 30-minute interview. They got back to me in just two days. It was a great experience overall; they were really clear and kept me in the loop the whole time. It took a bit after applying to hear back, but from the Hirevue to getting the offer was under two weeks.
- Could you explain Freddie Mac's business model?
Intern
The first stage was an online interview using a camera to record answers to questions. You get a pre-recorded question and have a short time to respond. It was a bit strange talking to a camera, and knowing a team would see the recording was also odd. The second stage was a more typical virtual interview that took up a whole day. It included a morning session with two 30-minute interviews and a final wrap-up. Since I was in the business track, I got behavioral questions, but I know those in the quantitative track had more technical questions.
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
