First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Freddie Mac.
Data Analyst
It was a two-part interview, starting with an online video call and followed by a chat with some hiring team folks. Both parts were pretty quick and not too hard, mostly just asking about my background and what's on my resume.
- Can you tell me about your SQL experience?
Data Analyst
So, there were 3 rounds in total. First was a 25-minute behavioral chat with HR, pretty standard stuff, easy to pass if you know how to interview. Then a 30-minute verbal technical interview with the hiring manager where I had to walk through past projects and talk about my experience with certain technologies. The last round was a 45-minute live technical session with a panel, where I had to write pseudo-code for some given scenarios.
- Can you tell me about a project that you're particularly proud of?
- What are the various methods for joining tables?
Data Analyst
The interview process started with a recruiter call and then moved to a technical screen. During this stage, they asked about challenging projects, conflict resolution, common data analysis challenges, and my proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Describe a difficult project you've managed and how you got through it.
- Tell me about a time you had conflicts during a project and how you resolved them.
- What are typical challenges in data analysis, and how have you addressed them in past projects?
