Fred Meyer is always hiring, so I think the interview process is probably always pretty easy, and it was for me. A lot of super basic questions, a job offer, a drug test, and boom! You work at Fred Meyer. I originally interviewed with HR, who then (same day) had me interview with the assistant manager for the home department. I've moved around a bit to different positions within the store and only had to re-interview for one. I started as a HOM freight clerk and applied for the HSW lead clerk shortly after. I was going to go into MD1, which would have involved another interview, but my life changed my path at the time.

Group Behavioral Presentation Case

I applied online and then got a call from the head of HR about four days later. They invited me to a group interview. There were five other people and the head of HR, who was really nice and engaging. We were asked customer service and sales questions and had to do a mock sale to the other candidates. Three days later, HR called me back for another interview with the head of the Home Department. I waited over 30 minutes past the scheduled time. The manager came out, shook my hand way too hard, and then quickly ran upstairs to his office. I pretty much failed the first question because I was thrown off by his behavior and the question. He said he had to talk to more people and would call me that night or the next day. I got a call three days later from the HR manager saying I wasn't offered the position.

I applied online and got an email saying I'd get a phone screen soon. It took about 4 weeks, but I eventually got a phone screen during the week. The recruiter asked me 3 questions about customer service. At the end, she mentioned I'd be moved to the next interview stage if I was chosen. But the next day, I got an email saying I wasn't offered the position.
