First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft.
Research Engineer
The interview process involved 2 interviews. The first one was online, covering general questions and getting to know each other. The second interview was in person, and it included a presentation and technical questions. The initial conversations were very nice, open, and transparent. However, I felt the presentation in the second interview was too much work for an interview.
- What motivated you to apply for this position?
Research Engineer
The interview involved a technical screening where I was asked about the feasibility of designing a tricycle that could be charged using three different methods: a pedal-powered dynamo, a solar panel, and a standard electrical outlet. This required considering the integration of these charging sources for the tricycle's lithium batteries.
- Regarding the tricycle project, could you outline the feasibility of incorporating three distinct charging mechanisms for its lithium batteries: a dynamo powered by pedaling, a solar panel, and a direct connection to an electrical socket?
Acoustic Research Engineer
I went through a two-stage interview process, with the first stage being online. I was interviewed by the group leader and a senior researcher from a related department who has a strong publication record. I had to give a 15-minute presentation about my most recent role. The interview was a bit challenging due to some technical issues on my end; my camera wasn't working because of Windows 11 problems, and a heating maintenance service interruption occurred during my presentation.
- Are you interested in working on condition monitoring topics?
