It was a very casual and laid-back interview. Two junior publicists interviewed me. They asked me very few questions about myself and mostly focused on explaining the job and its duties. Despite being a good experience overall, it felt quite informal, and the interviewers didn't seem fully prepared to ask about my background.

It was a really weird and unprofessional interview. I got there and they made me wait 20 minutes while they printed my resume and looked for someone to talk to me. Someone chatted with me briefly but then left me for another 20 minutes to find someone else. The questions were super basic, and the people I talked to were clearly not ready and didn't seem to have any hiring experience. They couldn't even answer my questions about the company well. After the second person, a founder came in and, instead of interviewing me, gave me this intense talk about how I'd have to give up my whole life for the job to show I was passionate enough. It's obvious they don't care about employee mental health or work-life balance. When I asked about benefits, the founder couldn't explain what they were, just saying it's like the benefits at 'a big agency.'

It was a pretty weak interview process, with two assistants interviewing me. They clearly didn't have much experience interviewing people, as there was no HR or recruiter involved. It seemed like they were more focused on whether they'd personally like me as a friend, rather than hiring me based on my skills, which is understandable I guess. They couldn't even answer simple questions about the job I was applying for.

The interview process is pretty easy. The first interview is with a publicity assistant and they’re really nice. The second interview is with one of the founders/owners and depending on who you interview with you might have a pleasant conversation or an off putting conversation. Listen closely to the “scare” speech and make sure you ask all the right questions, especially about benefits offered and not.
