It was pretty chill. First, there was a quick 20-30 minute phone chat with someone from talent acquisition who asked some basic stuff about why I liked Fragomen and immigration law. Make sure you sound interested in corporate business immigration law, not human rights or individual stuff. They also went over the hiring process. Then, about a week after, I had a formal Zoom interview with a few lawyers. It lasted about an hour, with several lawyers interviewing me together. Got an offer a few days later, but turned it down.

I did a phone screener. They asked me basic stuff about why I want to work there and my career goals. Also asked who else I was interviewing with and if Fragomen was my first choice.

So I started with a staffing agency, they did their own interview and some software quizzes. Then at Fragomen, I had interviews with three people, one was my direct manager. The manager asked me about a closed-door policy, which they explained meant I wouldn't be allowed in the office and would have to figure things out remotely. They also mentioned that nobody stays in the role for more than two months. There were a lot of red flags about working for a difficult manager who wouldn't support my growth, and they said promotions are only considered every two years. The job also had a three-month contract trial period.
