Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Foxconn.
Process Engineer
First round was simple questions about your background. Then in the second round they give you a project to prepare about the manufacturing process and present it in the interview.
- Tell me about your background.
Process Development Engineer
The interview process is tough and gives you only a week for a take-home design challenge. This challenge covers design, coating, manufacturing, and assembly. You then need to present all your ideas in a 3-4 hour presentation at an onsite interview in Cupertino. The interview involves 4 Cal alumni and the hiring manager. The company doesn't pay well, below average, and honestly not worth the interview. They ask sarcastic questions, and managers even play on their phones during the interview, which is disrespectful.
- Can you explain the reasoning behind your design choices?
Manufacturing Engineer
The interview process involved two stages: an HR screening and then an Onsite Interview with the Hiring Manager. A decision is usually given within a week. They asked basic engineering questions and also about my experience with 5s and lean manufacturing. Having previous experience in the electronic manufacturing industry is a plus for this role.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Could you share your experience with lean manufacturing principles?
- What is your experience in the electronic manufacturing industry?
