& Process

I interviewed in Taipei, Taiwan. Two directors spoke with me, which is typical as one is usually an engineering lead who focuses on technical questions, and the other is the department leader who asks more background-related questions. The whole thing took about 2 hours. Before the interview, there was an English test and an IQ test. An HR person also asked me some background questions.

First, the interviewer showed us around the company facilities, covering both the office and warehouse areas, and explained what the company does. Then, I interviewed with the supervisor. Most of the questions were based on my resume. For instance, they asked about which school courses were most helpful and my understanding of Supply Chain Management, given the warehouse focus of the role. I also had to present my academic and work history. The interviewer was particularly interested in my Microsoft skills, especially Excel. He asked me to send him some of my previous Excel work right after I got home so he could evaluate my skills. A few days later, I received a call informing me that I was accepted for the internship.

The interview took about three hours with a couple of managers from different fields. We talked about skill sets like Java/C/C++ and database design skills, plus project planning and roadmap planning. Then, I was asked to describe what makes me the chosen one if there are lots of candidates during the interview process.

Had a phone call from HR. Then I interviewed with three team managers, where I talked about my background and resume. They asked me what a product manager is and how they work. I answered their questions. Later, I got a phone call to choose one team for the next step.
