It was fine, the recruiter was really bubbly and awesome. They made sure each step was clear. I had to demo a lesson, and I was told to come prepared with materials like PowerPoints. The classrooms have about 30 kids. After the demo, I had to answer and ask questions. The whole thing took about 2 hours.

I filed my application and about two weeks later, I had a phone interview with a teacher from the department. Two weeks after that, I interviewed with the Lead Teacher, and then a week later with the Principal. The following week, I had an interview with the Board of Directors, which was a panel. After the interviews, I had to do presentations and teach sample lessons: a virtual lesson, a one-on-one lesson, a lesson for fellow teachers, and an in-class demonstration. This was followed by a psychological screening a few days later, and then I was offered the position two days after that.
- Can you explain the concept of 'No-Excuses' and its impact on your personal development and identity?
- What distinguishes National Academic Standards from Common Core Academic Standards, and how would you communicate curriculum changes to a parent?
- Describe your approach to managing a situation involving a physically aggressive student, parent, or guardian.
Teacher
The interview process was pretty standard. You'll first get a test in the subject you're applying for. After you submit that, you'll have a sit-down interview with the leadership team. They'll ask what you'd change and how you'd grade your demo yourself. They also want to hear about differentiated learning. Then, about 3-5 days later, they'll get back to you with an offer and what they expect.
- On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your lesson?
