Customer Service Representative
I applied through LinkedIn and got contacted by a recruiter for a phone screen. After passing that, I went to their Richardson office to meet the Hiring Manager and a Team Leader. The whole thing took less than a week. The vibe there was pretty chill and welcoming, you know? Most people seemed really relaxed, and the dress code was casual and trendy. Honestly, the interview itself was better than most I've had. The Hiring Manager was respectful and made me feel like I mattered. But, it wasn't perfect. I didn't love how the interview was structured, and the Associate Team Leader kept staring at me like she was really judging me, which made me feel uncomfortable and like I wasn't good enough. They also promised an office tour but didn't give me one, which felt like they didn't want to waste their time on me. To make things worse, the Recruiter and Hiring Manager didn't give me any interview feedback even though they said they would. The Hiring Manager even seemed annoyed I emailed her a thank you, and the Recruiter wasn't much better. I didn't get the job in the end, but considering their history of layoffs and low salaries, it probably wasn't the right fit anyway.

Customer Service Representative
I got a call and did a quick screening for the customer service role, then they asked me to come in for a face-to-face interview. Since it was a retail head office job, I dressed up to make a good impression. I was a bit early and waited, then a manager met me and took me to a conference room for the interview with the two main managers. They were really unprofessional in appearance, which shocked me. The interview itself had generic questions and they were very cold, even when I asked my questions. I didn't expect a callback. Two weeks later, they called for a second interview, which I went to, dressed a bit more casually. This time, it was with one manager and two employees. They asked a lot of questions quickly, and then I had to do a typing/speed test, which I did well on. I followed up about a week later about the status, but never heard back. I later saw the same job reposted online.

Customer Service Representative
I submitted my resume online and got a call back about a week later. I went through the whole interview process with three different managers. The third manager told me I got the job and that HR would contact me. A week passed with no contact, so I called and left many messages, but I was ignored. After three weeks, someone finally answered and told me the position had been changed to an analytical role. I told her I was offered the position and asked why I wasn't informed. She was rude and said if I was offered the job, they would have known. I called the manager who gave me his card. He said HR told him I never returned their calls, so they hired someone else. I explained I had been leaving messages and told him about the position change. He apologized and said nothing could be done. I was devastated! It was a terrible way to run a company.
- Can you tell us about a challenging customer interaction you experienced, how you managed it, and what happened in the end?
