I had a great experience with the recruiting team. The interview process was very structured and felt welcoming. Most of the people I met were friendly. However, there was one person, Will Gray, who was not friendly and was rude throughout our interview. He interrupted me multiple times and became very short with me during the interview. I felt belittled and was relieved when the interview with him was over.

Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

The interview process kicked off with several 30-minute phone or video chats with operations team members. These conversations focused heavily on culture, people management, and high-level operational strategies for managing a site. The in-person day in San Francisco involved multiple one-on-one meetings with senior staff, concluding with a group "jam session" to discuss open-ended topics. Before the on-site visit, I completed two "homework" assignments focused on analyzing growth and marketing data and creating a marketing/growth plan for a new site launch, which then formed the basis for much of the "jam session" discussion. The on-site day was quite full but offered a great feel for the company culture, which was appreciated. I also had plenty of chances to ask questions throughout, and the responses were very transparent, a key part of Forward's culture. The whole process felt like a good mix of assessing experience, people management skills, cultural fit, and analytical ability.

Behavioral Technical

I had an interview with a junior person from the team, or maybe a recruiter, and then with a senior person. The first interview was good, it was structured well and the conversation flowed nicely. The second interview with the senior person, however, was a complete waste of my time. She just read questions from her screen, seeming uninterested in my responses or in getting to know me. She was often looking away, which felt unprofessional and thoughtless. It really seemed like she didn't want to be there.
