Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Forvis Mazars Group.
Auditor
First, there's an HR assessment. Then, you'll have an interview with the auditor Manager where they'll ask you technical and behavioral questions. If you do well in those interviews, HR will usually get back to you with the results and offer details about 1–3 weeks after your last interview.
- Can you explain the fundamentals of technical auditing?
- Walk me through the audit cycle.
- How do you approach risk assessment in an audit?
Senior Audit Associate
I had a HR phone call, then met with the managing director. The managing director seemed rushed and more focused on how long I've been doing this, not so much my past experiences. It was nice overall, but I wish we could have used the full time instead of feeling rushed.
- Tell me about your hobbies outside of work.
Assistant Auditor
The hiring process happens all in one day, it's split into 3 parts: first, they'll tell you about the company and ask you stuff to see if you know its history, structure, and business. Then, there's a group assessment where you'll get a question (try to estimate without data if you can) and you'll present your work. The last part is one-on-one interviews where they might ask technical questions about general accounting and accounting principles.
- What makes up the balance sheet?
- How does purchasing a piece of machinery affect the balance sheet?
- OIC: Accounting principles?
