Game Designer
It was 3 interviews and 1 prompt. The first was with HR, then after submitting the prompt, there were two more interviews. The second one was with a manager in my potential project area, and the third was with a manager from a different area, but still on the same team. The whole thing took about 3 months.
- Could you discuss the F2P market?
- What are your thoughts on the prompt you submitted?

I was first contacted by a recruiter and we had a good conversation. Then, about a week later, I had a 60-minute discussion with potential team members. Soon after, I was told the team really liked my background and I was sent a detailed assignment that took me about a month to finish and send back. It's been a month since I sent my work to the Fortis Games recruiter, and I haven't heard anything back, even after sending another email two weeks post-submission to ask about the usual review timeline.
- Analyze the content flow for the core loop of a Top 50 grossing mobile game, focusing on the first 2-3 days of gameplay for non-paying users.
- Design a proposal for a new small Game Mode or Liveops Event for 'Family Island,' ensuring it can be completed by a non-paying player within 3 days and is developable within 1 month.
- Using the design and content plan from the previous question, outline the complete player experience over the 3-day duration of the Game Mode/Liveops Event.

So after meeting with the hiring manager, I got sent a test that I had to do within 48 hours and it was a huge test, like 8 hours of work. Then I had to wait 25 days for feedback, which was just an automated email saying I failed. They offered a 15 minute call with the hiring manager, but the email was a no-reply, so it was really hard to schedule. Making time for that on top of my busy schedule was already tough, and the way they communicated felt really disrespectful.
