The process had 4 main stages. Between each stage, the HR rep called to update me. They didn't test programming or anything like that, just analytical thinking questions. The first stage was a 2-hour take-home test. The second stage was a 2-hour interview with a team leader. It included a 30-minute task, followed by questions about how I did the task, a description of the role, a bit about me, and a chance to ask questions about the job. The third stage was a 1.5-hour interview with 2 team leaders, with lots of short questions and tasks. The fourth stage was an HR interview, which was more like a classic interview with many questions about my background and resume.

So, like most reviews say, the first thing you do is a take-home assignment. It's got two parts: first, you gotta find the robber, and then you answer 15 questions based on a data sheet. Be ready to answer stuff like whether a fraudster's spending is usually low, medium, or high. You'll also need to be good with pivot tables and IF statements. After that, I had an online interview with a senior analyst. The recruiter was all like, 'just be yourself, no need to prep,' but nah, you gotta prep! The interview actually went over the assessment questions that needed fixing, but you can't see the assessment beforehand. So, really remember your answers and go over them. You won't get to take notes, so try to remember as much as you can, maybe even record it. Then there was this exercise with like 13 questions. They don't expect you to finish them all in the time given, but they only tell you that *after* the time is up, which is pretty unfair and stressful. The interviewer wants you to be confident and focus on what's important – without telling you what's important – and give clear answers, spoken and written. It's funny, they expect you to be organized, but they might not be. The questions were about a made-up global research scenario, trying to figure out if someone is more likely 0-18 or 18-45 years old, and what factors are relevant. The interviewer mentioned questions 1-2 were about Israel, but then during the review, he said question 3 was too. He didn't discuss all my answers, just said he'd look at them later. You should know terms like 'classification model' and 'correlation.' Knowing research methods helps too, and honestly, practice sounding a bit cocky. I got the vibe they're not super keen on CS grads.

I went through an interview with Forter in Feb 2024. First, I got a timed take-home assignment, similar to other experiences shared here. The main interview seemed to focus on the latter half of that assignment. They didn't really touch on the first part about finding the thief's profile. Then, they asked me about electric scooter riders. Specifically, I had to use a Google Sheet to list the data I'd need and its sources to generate traffic reports for them in Athens. I also had to figure out how many electric scooter riders are in Athens. After that, I was given some data and a map showing that data. I had to look at the point density on the map and suggest the best spot for someone to provide those traffic reports. Lastly, they asked why I was interested in Forter and this specific job. I asked for feedback on why I didn't get the job and how I could improve, but they just said they'd look into it without actually providing any useful feedback, which felt pretty dismissive.
