My wife teaches at the school and upon hearing of the AVID Tutor position and knowing that I was interested, she gave my number to Mrs. McCoy who is in charge of the AVID program at Benbrook Middle High School. She contacted me and we talked over the phone and set up a time to meet. In person we discussed whether or not I would make a good candidate for the position. Upon receiving the job, she then asked for my availability, and then I began working within a week or two.

The interview process involved a meeting with the principal, vice principal, and director. This took place in the main office conference room on campus a week after the school year ended. The goal of these personal and professional questions was to give the interviewers a solid understanding of my character, interests, and background.
