HR reached out via Linkedin about a Sales Development role, and I had an initial 30-45 minute phone screening. After that, I spoke with the Director of Sales over the phone. The final stage involved three in-person interviews with Account Managers and Directors of Sales. I did notice a disconnect between Forrester's brand message of 'Challenging Thinking and Leading Change' and the attitudes of some senior managers when I asked about staff retention in Sales. While the Director of Sales presented a positive outlook on retention, past employee reviews suggest otherwise. The HR team was quite helpful and kept me updated throughout. The company seems appealing, apart from some top-level bureaucracy that clashes with the brand's image. It felt like challenging senior managers' views wasn't an option, and success would require simply following orders, which feels like an outdated approach. It's also concerning that their client base hasn't grown recently, raising questions about the sales team's effectiveness in client acquisition.

Behavioral Presentation

The interview process is pretty standard, internal and external. For external candidates, there's a phone screening, skills tests, and a background check. Sometimes there's another recruiter call, but usually, they bring you in for an in-person interview. This consists of 4 to 6 back-to-back 30-minute interviews with team members or management. They usually ask similar questions, with a few unique ones. If you pass that, you might do a short sales presentation to check your speaking skills.

Behavioral Presentation

I applied on LinkedIn and a recruiter reached out. We had a good 30-45 minute call with typical screening questions. They told me I was chosen for another interview and it was a 'cream of the crop' situation, which was odd since I had no industry experience and was looking for a career change. The second interview wasn't really an interview, but more of a meet and greet with 'high ranking' employees. It felt like a bunch of people trying to get a moment with hiring managers, which wasn't what I was looking for, especially for an entry-level role.
